Four cards at the top show your exclusion breakdown:

IP RangesCIDR ranges excluded
Audience ExclusionsCustom audience segments excluded

How Exclusions Work

  1. Detection — ClickFortify's AI identifies fraudulent or suspicious click patterns
  2. Exclusion Created — An entry is added to this list
  3. Sync to Google Ads — The exclusion is pushed to your ad account via the Google Ads API
  4. Blocking Active — Google Ads prevents future impressions to that entity

Understanding Failed Syncs

If an exclusion shows Failed in the Message column:

  1. Your Google Ads API exclusion limits may be reached
  2. There may be a temporary connection issue
  3. API permissions may need updating

Failed exclusions are not protecting your ads. If you see multiple failures, check your Google Ads connection in Space Settings immediately.

Google Ads has caps on the number of exclusions:

TypeLimit
IP Exclusions per Campaign500
IP Exclusions per Account500
Placement Exclusions10,000

ClickFortify manages these limits automatically by prioritizing highest-threat IPs, removing expired exclusions, and rotating when limits are reached.

Best Practices

  1. Monitor sync status — Investigate any Failed messages promptly
  2. Review regularly — Understand what's being excluded from your campaigns
  3. Look for patterns — Repeated IP ranges or data centers may warrant manual Blocklist entries
  4. Check expirations — Some exclusions expire; if fraud returns after expiry, add to the Blocklist
